IDB to help map broadband demand in Brazil

Brazil's National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), through IDB Invest, have agreed a project to map fixed and mobile broadband demand. The Crowdsourcing for Digital Connectivity in Brazil project (C2DB project) will use population density maps, crowdsourcing information, and socioeconomic data to identify areas of unmet demand, group them, connect them to areas with greater connectivity, and estimate the cost of connecting people, institutions, and businesses.
