Bought first house for $190k in Midwest in 2005. About 1900 SF ranch w/ full basement.
Was 23 years old, dual income no kids just out of college, I'm an engineer. We had no debt.

Purchased a 2/2 townhouse in 2014 on the east coast for 135,000. Was a consultant and lived very frugally in my 20's.
