ISUZU launches 1.9L Ddi engine powered personal Pick-up vehicles

The mu-X will be powered by the modern, lightweight 1.9L Ddi engine delivering 120kW / 163 PS of power and 360Nm of torque at 2000-2500rpm.

Isuzu Motors India launched the much-awaited, BS VI compliant V-Cross variants in India, today. The company added an all-new model ISUZU Hi-Lander and a new V-Cross Z AT variant to address the needs of emerging urban Indian customers attracted towardsthe Pick-up culture it has created. The company also launched the BS VI compliant mu-X models alongside. With the addition of these new vehicles, Isuzu Motors India now offers a more comprehensive range of Personal Pick-up vehicles and SUV including the V-Cross Z Prestige (4WD / AT), V-Cross Z (4WD / MT), V-Cross Z (2WD / AT), Hi-Lander (2WD / MT) and the mu-X (4WD / AT & 2WD / AT).

In its pursuit to offer the dynamic and enthusiastic Indian a stylish product to boost the spirit of adventure, Isuzu Motors India had unveiled India’s 1st “Adventure Utility Vehicle” the ISUZU D-MAX V-Cross at the Auto Expo 2016. It caters to the growing need for an ‘Lifestyle Vehicle’ that provokes the spirit of a Pick-up Culture in India with a combination of rugged and durable off-roading capability and passenger vehicle like comfort. The ISUZU D-Max V-Cross complements the dreams of adventurous pursuits and to explore new facets of life. The Pick-up is tough and durable, encompassing aggressive styling with a host of comfort and safety features. ISUZU’s legendary engineering that offers best-in-class efficiency and reliability adds to the appeal quotient winning customers with performance and panache.

The BS VI range comes with a modern, lightweight and efficient 1.9 Litre Ddi Engine producing animpressive power of 120 kW / 163 PS and a peak torque of 360 Nm @ 2000-2500 rpm. The technologically advanced engine enables better and complete combustion at all engine speeds thus offering a pleasurable motoring experience. With this engine, the NVH levels are lower in the cabin thus adding to the overall comfort of all occupants.

The vehicles are equipped with Variable Geometric Turbocharger with position sensor that allows effective fuel burn. An effective set of After Treatment Devices including LNT (Lean NOx Trap), DPD (Diesel Particular Diffuser) and A-SCR (Active Selective Catalyst Reduction) enable the vehicles to effectively manage treatment of the exhaust gases and particulate matter. This is further assisted with an electronically controlled Hot & Cold EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system for optimal treatment management.

The new 6-speed manual transmission introduced in the BS VI range is a first-in-category feature in the Pick-up vehicle segment providing more driving comfort. It also comes with GSI (Gear Shift Indicator) that enables the driver to use the ideal gear in any driving condition ensuring the best in terms of torque, fuel management and drivetrain durability. The efficient 6-Speed Automatic Transmission offers intelligent transmission with adaptive grade-logic control keeping the vehicle in right gears thus avoiding over-revving. Further direct drive ability in the 3rd to 6th gears at steady speeds ensures high fuel efficiency while cruising. 

The new range carries forward the successful bold and dominating styling inspired by ‘Cyborg – Orca’ with the design cues highlights of being sharp, aggressive and solid. This flows from the dominating wedge shape fascia which blends aerodynamically in profile with muscular and flared arches that give its aggressive presence even when still.

The new ISUZU Hi-Lander sports a bolder look with an attractive grey grille and bumper design. It has the High Ride suspension that offers higher ground clearance, wider track with longer wheel base. Further highlights include new headlamps design, grey outside rear-view mirrors, body coloured door handles, 16-inch wheels sporting stylish wheel covers and Chrome Tailgate handle. Its profile has a sleek look with the Blacked-out B-Pillar. The Black and Grey interior layout with comfortable and ergonomic seats add a trendy elegance and is designed to make the drive more enjoyable. The powerful AC system can be adjusted with the three dials on the centre console. The Hi-Lander is equipped with Parking Sensors mounted on the rear bumper. The Hi-Lander is sure to become the product of choice for the aspiring urban Indian looking to enter the personal Pick-up category.

The Hi-Lander and V-Cross Variants come with 3D Design Instrument Cluster with Chrome Rings providing high intensity display with pertinent information and menu options. Adding convenience for the second-row passengers, comfortable rear seats and additional AC vents have been offered along with 2nd Row USB Charging Port.  The Hi-Lander and V-Cross Z variants have well-appointed dashboard, centre console and door highlights that have a refreshed layout in Black and grey. The V-Cross Z Prestige has premium finish dashboard featuring Piano Black highlights with soft-touch panels and come with sporty dual tone brown and grey leather seating.

The V-Cross Z Prestige and V-Cross Z Variants comes equipped with Bi-LED Auto-Levelling Projector head-lights giving 50% longer & wider beam throw, Shark-Fin Antenna with Gun-Metal Finish, 18-inch alloy wheels and a stylish side step to add a sportier look and user convenience. A first-in-the-segment, the V-Cross has PESS (Passive Entry & Start Stop System) for convenience and safety.The PESS feature allows easy access to the vehicle while adding convenience of starting & stopping the engine at the press of a button. The V-Cross variants also come with steering mounted audio controls and a 7” touch screen audio system with USB input, DVD, AUX, iPod and Bluetooth connectivity.

The ISUZU D-MAX V-Cross 4WD variants are equipped with terrain command feature Shift-On-Fly drive mode, High Ride suspension that offers high ground clearance, wider track with longer wheel base. The V-Cross variants are equipped with Reverse parking sensors and a rear camera for ease of parking. 

ISUZU vehicles are renowned for their tough build quality and the new vehicles stay true to this reputation. The vehicles come with iGRIP platform (Isuzu Gravity Response Intelligent Platform) for long term durability and stability. They are fully loaded with best-in-class occupant safety features including BOS (Brake Override System) which cuts power to the engine in case of panic braking (when the brake and accelerator pedals are being depressed at the same time). The best-in-class occupant safety features continue with height adjustable seat-belt with pre-tensioner & load limiter, speed sensitive auto door lock, co-driver seat belt reminder, front and rear crumple zones, air bags, cross car front beam, door side intrusion, collapsible steering column, and underbody steel protection for the drivetrain. The V-Cross Z Prestige variant has ESC (Electronic Stability Control) with TCS (Traction Control System) and HDC (Hill Descent Control), offering the best driving experience on or off-road.

They have a 4-Channel, 4-Sensor ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution) which avoids wheel locking. Isuzu vehicles are highly durable and have been tested for over 4 million kms. on the toughest terrains making them the preferred choice for Indian customers. 

ISUZU mu-X

The ISUZU mu-X is the perfect full size 7-seater SUV for the modern Indian SUV buyer. On the exterior, the mu-X is styled with a tiger-inspired dynamic and muscular exterior that makes it look truly spectacular and dominating on the road, a must-have characteristic for a sports utility vehicle in this class. It has been designed to offer the perfect combination of style, power and road presence while also providing excellent space and comfort for the family too.

The mu-X will be powered by the modern, lightweight 1.9L Ddi engine delivering 120kW / 163 PS of power and 320Nm of torque at 2000-2500rpm. With this engine, the NVH levels are lower in the cabin thus adding to the overall comfort of all occupants. The mu-X will be available in both 4×2 and 4×4 variants with the new 6-speed sequential shift Automatic Transmission. The 4×4 variant sports a ‘shift-on-the-fly’ 4×4 select dial for an excellent off-roading capability.

The ISUZU mu-X isn’t just a spacious 7-seater SUV, but also an SUV with a big heart. With its soft leather seats, adjustable headrests for all seats and a comfortable third row, everyone travelling along, whether kids or grandparents, will never be short of comfort. The one touch split/fold seats in both, the second and third row, make sure that there is enough room for the whole family including luggage when travelling for a long vacation. It also features a twin cockpit design with easily accessible controls for both, the driver and the front passenger. In addition to these, the Penta-Link rear suspension provides excellent comfort for all passengers, while the supremely spacious cabin features a number of smart storage compartments.

The mu-X is highly appreciated by many customers for its ruggedness, durability and reliability that is proven world-over. ISUZU mu-X establishes this aspect very strongly and its space & comfort makes it the most desirable SUV.

The vehicles will be available in the exciting all new colours Nautilus Blue, Spinel Red and Galena Grey, in addition to the existingpremium Silky Pearl White, Solid White, Cosmic Black, Sapphire Blue and Titanium Silver. There will be an attractive introductory price of Rs.19,98,000 (Ex-Showroom Chennai) for V-Cross Z (2WD / AT) and Rs.16,98,000 (Ex-Showroom Chennai) for Hi-Lander (2WD / MT) on limited stock.
