560 new Covid cases, 10 die, Chief Secretary recovers

Imphal, May 13 (UNI) Ten persons died due to Covid while 560 new
cases were detected. Chief Secretary, Dr Rajesh Kumar was also
discharged after recovery from RIMS.
In the past twenty-four hours, 555 persons (287M. 268F) from general
population and 5 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were
confirmed as new COVID19 positive cases.
They were tested at JNIMS (62), RIMS (69), Imphal East (9), Maipakpi
(10), Mother’s Care (2), IRL (2), SWISS (1), Gilead Health Care Centre
(1), Little Clinic (3), RD Wing (7), Ema Hospital (3), Advance
Hospital (2), Asian Hospital (9), Iboyaima Hospital (1), Jivan
Hospital (14), Shija Hospital (37), Babina Diagnostics (88), Escent
Diagnostics (42), Thoubal (84), Bishnupur (26), Churachandpur (40),
Chandel (8), Senapati (2), Tamenglong (7), Tengnoupal (2), Kangpokpi
(12), Kamjong (2), Noney (6), Jiribam (1) and Ukhrul (8).
They were from Imphal East (120), Imphal West (262), Thoubal (21),
Bishnupur (45), Kakching (17), Ukhrul (9), Churachandpur (45), Chandel
(9), Senapati (2), Tamenglong (5), Kangpokpi (12), Kamjong (3).
Tengnoupal (4) and Jiribam (1).
In the last 24 hours, 10 persons expired at Raj Medicity (2), Shija
Hospital (2), DH Ukhrul (1), RIMS (4) and JNIMS (1) hospital
respectively. The cumulative number of deaths was 536.
The total number of discharged persons was 253. They were from CAPF
(6), Home Isolation (199), RIMS (9), RD Wing (6), CCC Bishnupur (5),
CCC Kakching (3), CCC Jiribam (1), CCC Ukhrul (8), CCC NSU (5) and CCC
Churachandpur (11).
The cumulative number of positive cases was 37,596 (General Population
— 33,916 and Central Security Personnel — 3,680). The cumulative
number of recovered cases was 31,491 (General Population — 27,988 and
Central Security Personnel — 3,503). The number of active cases was
5569 (General Population — 5397 and Central Security Personnel - 172).
The recovery rate was 83.76 %.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 1213 D type Oxygen Cylinders and 447
B-type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health
institutions and health facilities of Manipur.
So far 291152 people were vaccinated. Air passengers who travelled to the State on May, 12 by Air India AI-713 in rows 17-23, May, 10 by
Air India AI-713 in rows 10-16, May, 3 by 6E-6034 in rows 24-30 and 6E-2615 in rows 26-31 were asked to inform the Common Covid Control Room 1800-345-3818 or respective District Surveillance Officers (DSO) for further surveillance and necessary testing.
Manipur Police today detained 237 persons, a sum of Rs. 89,650
collected as fine.
Dr Rajesh Kumar, CS Manipur was discharged today from RIMS Hospital.
He was admitted with COVID -19 Pneumonia, which involved a major part of the lungs. After 24 days of medications, Oxygen therapy at tapering flow and Physiotherapy, he was fully cured. He has been comfortable without oxygen support for the last four days. He was weak because of the prolonged hospitalization but quick recovery is expected at home.
Prof. A. Santa Singh, Director, RIMS thanked the doctors, nurses and
other staff who had worked tirelessly to fight the COVID-19 pandemic and requested the public to follow SOPs and COVID-19 Appropriate behaviour strictly.
