Sunil Kant Munjal illustrates ‘The Making of Hero’

Hyderabad: Although the Hero Group was started in 1956 by four Munjal brothers, the story of their success began much earlier in the 1920s when the family lived in the regions of Kamalia and later escaped to the cities in India during the division in the 1940s. has. of entrepreneurship was sown in the brains of the four brothers, explains Suno Kant Munjal, chairman of Hero Enterprises. In a virtual book discussion organized by The Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) Hyderabad, Sunil Kant Munjal spoke about his recently unveiled book ‘The Making of Hero, Four Brothers, Two Wheelers and a Revolution that Shaped India’. Munjal spoke about the different aspects of the book, as he spoke about the extreme adversity facing the brothers to be successful and how the second and third generations carry on the legacy.

‘Although I could only write about my father Brijmohan Lall Munjal, but I choose to write about all four brothers, because my father believed that he involved and attributed the whole family, including the employees, to the success of the business. . Each of the brothers was unique in nature, but they came together. It has always been about the company first. The second and third generation of the family maintained the cultural practices of the company while making some organizational changes, ” the chairman said.

Munjal explained to Dr Tapan K Panda, professor and director, NMIMS, that the world has changed with the advent of pandemic. The private sector is working with various governments – both the center and the state – to create awareness and help people navigate these difficult times. “In the post-pandemic world, I see technology and businesses making better use of hybrid methods to stay in business. “Companies will also become considerate and plan in a more serious way for any unfavorable situation,” he said.
