Karnataka SSLC exam 2021 postponed amid Covid-19 surge

NEW DELHI: Karnataka primary and secondary education minister S Suresh Kumar on Thursday said the government has decided to defer the SSLC examination which was scheduled to commence from June 21 due to surge in the Covid-19 cases. He further said that the revised schedule will be decided after the second wave dies.
"SSLC Examination slated to begin from June 21 has been postponed in view of the surge in Covid 19 cases. The revised schedule will be decided after the second wave dies said Karnataka primary and secondary education minister S Suresh Kumar," ANI reported.
During the first wave of the pandemic in the country, Karnataka had successfully conducted one pending exam of II PU and all the SSLC papers.

Earlier, this month the education department had postponed the Karnataka II PU exams scheduled to start on May 24. The minister had said that the government will announce new dates well in advance. Around 7.1 lakh students will appear for the II PU exam.
During the first wave of the pandemic in the country, Karnataka had successfully conducted one pending exam of II PU and all the SSLC papers.
