Earlier on Monday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that his government is increasing medical infrastructure for COVID patients keeping in mind a possible third wave that will be able to manage up to 30,000 cases per day.
As the second wave of the COVID-19 continues to wreak havoc nationwide, medical infrastructure is overwhelmed in the national capital. As per the report, to ease the burden on medical equipment facilities, Covid care centres to get 990 ventilators in 15 hospitals.
The report further suggests that these facilities will be provided at Burari Hospital, Indira Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital in Dwarka, Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, and Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital by the Delhi government.

As per the latest trends, the COVID positivity rate in the national capital has come down significantly but the number of critical patients requiring intensive medical care is still high.
As per the order signed by the department deputy secretary, "All the above hospitals are directed to get the ventilators installed immediately and submit a compliance report to the health department," as quoted.
