Aurangabad/Mumbai, May 13(UNI) The period of strict restrictions imposed to curb the spread of corona in Maharashtra has been extended and will now be in force till 0700 hours on June 1, 2021.
According to official notification issued by state chief secretary Mr Sitaram Kunte on Thursday, earlier, the restrictions was extended till May 15 to curb the spread of Covid-19, and new guidelines were also issued on On April 29.
This decision has been taken in accordance with the provisions of the Communicable Diseases Act, 1897 and the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
The notification further said that all the restrictions related to 'Break the Chain' announced on 13 April 2021, 21 April 2021 and thereafter on 29 April 2021 will remain in force till 1 June 2021.
In addition some other restrictions have been imposed; it is mandatory for every person entering Maharashtra through any vehicle to have an RT-PCR negative test report and this report should be of the test conducted at most 48 hours prior to entering the state.
Only two persons (driver and cleaner) will be allowed to travel in one vehicle for freighters. If these cargoes are coming from outside Maharashtra, both of them will have to give RT-PCR negative test report and this report should be submitted at most 48 hours before it is filed in the state. The report will be valid for only seven days.
The Local Disaster Management Administration (DMA) will monitor the work of the Rural Market and Agricultural Produce Market Committees and ensure that the COVID-19 restrictions are strictly followed.
If the DMA finds that it is becoming difficult to manage and discipline in some of these places, it will decide to close down the rural markets and agricultural produce market committees or impose more restrictions, the notification further stated.
Milk collection, milk transportation and processing will continue without any restrictions but retail milk sales will be allowed for shops that strictly abide by all the applicable restrictions and are allowed to sell essential items or they will be able to do 'home delivery'.
People involved in the transportation of medicines and other materials for the management of Covid-19 will be allowed to travel by local, mono and metro rail at the airport and port services.
Local DMAs may decide to impose more restrictions on specific areas of their jurisdiction. However, the SDMA will have to be notified and publicly announced 48 hours before the ban is implemented, the notification added.
