CCpur cracks down on SOP violators

CCpur, May 11 2021:
The District Administration in Churachandpur launched a massive crackdown today to check the discreet and blatant violation of restrictions imposed to control the spread of Covid-19.Officials of the District Administration including Deputy Commissioner, Additional DC, Superintendent of Police, Additional SP (Ops), Additional SP (IUCAW), CEO ADC, and AC 1st IRB along with security personnel conducted the crackdown on shops in the morning.
During the drive by the top officials of the district, it came to light that Covid restrictions are often violated early in the day which endangers the lives of those involved as well as the general public.
The crackdown led by the Deputy Commissioner also came, a day after he met editors of the local daily papers and briefed them on the initiatives taken by the administration to treat Covid patients and also to control the spread of the virus.
Shops which violated the restrictions were locked by the CEO ADC and their licenses are likely be cancelled said a source.
The area/market that saw a crackdown by the district officials includes New Bazar, Hill Town, D Phailian Bazar, Dorcas Road, Ngulthong Bazar, Lanva, Thingkangphai, Hmar Veng, Bijang, Tuibong Bazar and Khomoi Bazar.
One pick-up truck trading Cement was detained at the Police Station while two other Cement shops are locked and challaned during the crackdown.
The District Police dispersed the crowd that gathered at several vegetable markets and appealed to the public not to violate the curfew and to follow the SOPs for the safety of all.
Meanwhile, the ADC Churachandpur teamed up with the district fire-brigade later in the day to spray disinfectants at several locations across Churachandpur town.
