Telangana DGP says lockdown is being applied

Hyderabad): The ten-day closing time, which started in Telangana from Wednesday, is being strictly implemented, said Mahendar Reddy, Director-General of Police.

Necessary instructions were given to police personnel at all levels in this regard, he said.

The state instituted the lockdown for 10 days from today at 10am to prevent the spread of the land COVID-19 with daily morning four hour relaxation.

In a video message, he urged the people to cooperate with the government decision and follow self-restraints.

He further said the police will assist the people in cases of medical emergencies and vaccination.

Shutdown is perfectly implemented. Traffic across interstate borders is regulated. Necessary measures have been taken for the smooth passage of goods vehicles and other vehicles driving through the National Highways, Reddy said.

Police personnel were seen setting up barricades in various places in the city to check on offenders, and senior police officers, including the police commissioners from Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda respectively – Anjani Kumar, VC Sajjanar and Mahesh Bhagwat – were seen.

Traders in the city did brisk business that morning.

Many shops in the old town area were open in the morning to facilitate Ramzan shops.

Grocery store and other outlets that opened around 6:30 a.m. dropped shutters by 9:30 p.m.
