Indian markets will remain closed on Thursday due to the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr (Ramzan Eid) across India. This means no trading will be allowed in domestic equities, derivates and currency markets.

However, commodity markets will be shut during the first half of Thursday and will commence trading during the evening session.

Trading in Indian stock exchanges will commence on May 14.

On Wednesday, Indian markets closed on a bearish note led by a broad-based selloff across sectoral indices. Metal stocks nosedived the most, while financial, private banks and IT stocks also weighed down on the benchmarks Sensex and Nifty 50. Also, weak global cues added to the woes. Investors have been cautious due to inflation worries. The government will present CPI Inflation data for April 2021, while IIP data for March 2021 today.

Sensex finished at 48,690.80 down by 471.01 points or 0.96%, while Nifty 50 completed at 14,696.50 lower by 154.25 points or 1.04%.
