GURUGRAM: Four men allegedly shot at the husband of Patli village sarpanch in Farrukhnagar on Tuesday. Satbir Dhankar was out for a morning walk when a group of men in a car allegedly approached him and opened fire. An FIR has been filed against six people.
In his complaint to police, Dhankar said two families in the village had a dispute over parking on Monday night. “After listening to all the parties, I had asked one of the families to apologise to the other family. The next day, I was taking a walk near KMP Expressway around 5am when a Swift Dzire car came near me, opened fire and fled. The windowpane was tinted so I couldn’t see the faces of the people inside the car,” said Dhankar.
He added that he noted the registration number of the car, which belongs to one of the youths involved in the parking dispute. He immediately called police. On the basis of his complaint, an FIR was registered against six people under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of IPC and relevant sections of the Arms Act at Farrukhnagar police station.
“Police are scanning the CCTV footage. Several teams are conducting raids to nab the accused,” police spokesperson Subhash Boken said.
