NEW DELHI: India's industrial output rose 25.8 per cent in March from a year earlier, government data showed on Wednesday (May 12).

Analysts polled by Reuters had expected a rise of 17.6 per cent in March.

The sharp rise compared with the 22.8 per cent fall seen in March 2020, as the country was put under a national lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus.
