    Torrent Pharma shares gain 1.14% as Sensex falls

    Shares of Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd. traded 1.14 per cent up at Rs 2745.9 at 10:36AM (IST) on Wednesday, even as BSE benchmark Sensex dropped 414.94 points to 48746.87. The scrip had closed at Rs 2714.9 in the previous session.

    The stock quoted a 52-week high and 52-week low of Rs 3040.0 and Rs 2232.0, respectively.

    As per BSE data, total traded volume on the counter till 10:36AM (IST) stood at 10:36AM shares with turnover at Rs 1.98 crore.

    At the current price, the stock trades at 37.02 times its trailing 12-month earnings per share of Rs 73.39 per share and 6.92 times its price-to-book value, the exchange data showed.

    A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher share price today because of growth expectations in the future. Price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.

    The Beta value of the stock, which measures its volatility in relation to the broader market, stood at 0.49.

    Shareholding Details
    Promoters held 71.25 per cent stake in the company as of 31-Mar-2021, while FIIs owned 12.94 per cent and DIIs 6.77 per cent.
