LoopMe, a digital advertising company, has surveyed 2,295 UK consumers between 9-11 April, 2021, to understand consumer intent to travel in 2021, including the type of holiday consumers are most likely to book this year and whether they would consider going to a country that is anti-vaccine.
Key takeaways include:
- 73% of UK consumers will not travel to a country that is anti-vaccine
- 19% of UK consumers plan to book a holiday abroad this summer
- Gen Z females (18-24, single) are most likely to book a holiday abroad this summer / a beach holiday abroad this year
- Females are 2x more likely to not visit a country that is anti-vaccine than males
- 44% of UK consumers will consider a holiday in the UK this year
Sarah Rew, Senior Director, Global Marketing, LoopMe, said “As vaccination numbers rise, and travel restrictions ease, the key question is whether people will venture abroad this year, or staycation in the UK instead. LoopMe’s recent survey found that 73% of UK consumers say they will not travel to a country that is anti-vaccine, with 44% of UK consumers considering a holiday in the UK this year. Of the UK consumers who still plan to book a holiday outside the UK this Summer (19%), single Gen Z females were revealed as most likely to book an overseas holiday, although females generally are twice as unlikely as males to visit a country that is anti-vaccine.”
