Hyundai is India’s second largest car manufacturer and they have a variety of products in their lineup. Apart from the existing products, Hyundai is also working on couple of new vehicles for the market. One of them is a micro SUV which is known by the codename AX1. This micro SUV has been spotted testing several times. This is going to be a car that will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki S-Presso in the segment and will be launched in India as well as international markets. Hyundai recently released couple of teaser images for the upcoming AX1 micro SUV and here we have a digital render of the SUV which is based on those teaser images.

The render images as mentioned above are based on the teaser images and looking at the images, we also feel that the upcoming micro SUV from Hyundai might look something like this. The teaser image released earlier this month had clearly given an idea of how the DRLs and the headlights on the AX1 were going to look like. The artist took those elements and added it to his render.

AX1 will be placed below Hyundai Venue and just like Venue, the headlights are positioned on the lower part of the bumper. The shape of the headlamps are however different. Hyundai AX1 will get a round shaped projector headlamp with LED DRLs around it. The grille will be placed between the headlights and will come with triangle patterns on it. The grille actually wraps around the headlamps on the car. Just like seen in the teaser image, the turn indicators are placed above the headlamps just like Venue and a Hyundai logo is also placed between it.

Overall design of the upcoming AX1 micro SUV is going to be boxy. The artist has imagined AX1 as a smaller version of the Venue and that is one of the reason why it has a similar design. There are thick black claddings around the wheel arches and around the body, just like KUV100 from Mahindra, Hyundai AX1’s door handle for rear door will be integrated with the C-pillar. to complete the SUV looks, there is a possibility that, Hyundai might give it a faux silver colour skid plate, both at the front and rear.

The render image only shows how the front of the SUV might look like. The side profile of the render image also shows the alloy wheels which come with a new design. A set of roof rail is also installed to give it an SUV like look. Like any other Hyundai car in the country, upcoming AX1 is also expected to get a well equipped cabin. It is quite possible that, Hyundai might offer features that are not available in any of the cars in this segment. There is currently no information available on how the cabin of this upcoming micro SUV might look like.

Hyundai AX1 is expected to be offered with two petrol engine options. There will be a 1.1 litre engine that will generate 69 Ps and 99 Nm of toque. The 1.2 litre petrol engine will come with 83 Ps and 113 Nm of torque. Both petrol engines are expected to be offered with manual and AMT gearbox options.
