Intel has added 10 new configurations to its growing 11^th Gen Core H-series. The new processors based on the Tiger Lake architecture have been launched for high-end gaming and workstation laptops. The new configurations include five consumer processors and five commercial processors. At the launch, the lineup includes Core i9 and Core i7 models with eight cores each as well as six-core Core i5 models.

Intel promises up to 19 percent better gen-on-gen multi-threaded performance. The new 11^th Gen Core CPUs feature a new UHD graphics integrated GPU based on Intel’s new Xe-LP architecture.

The new processors use the ‘Willow Cove’ core architecture which is fabricated using Intel’s 10nm SuperFin process.

The top-end Core i9-11980HK is touted as the world’s best mobile gaming processor. It is fully unlocked and overclockable. It has eight cores with Hyper-Threading ad 24MB of L4 cache memory.

The chips will support up to 44 platform PCIe lanes, Thunderbolt 4 with up to 40Gbps bandwidth, discrete Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+), Optane H20, 20 PCIe Gen 4 lanes with RST-bootable RAID0, and turbo boost up to 5.0Ghz with Intel’s Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0.

Intel announced that its new H-series processors will be used in over 30 upcoming ultraportables (laptops with 20mm thickness or below) and 80 workstations. Companies including Razer, HP, Asus, Lenovo, MSI, Acer, Gigabit, and Dell are announcing their new laptops with the new chip.

According to Intel, the partnered OEMs will bring over 80 designs, many of which will use NVIDIA’s GeForceRTX3050 and GeForce RTX 3050 Ti discrete GPUs. Intel says buyers can expect to see more 17-inch gaming laptops in the market with 1440p resolution, as well as 1080p resolution with refresh rates of up to 360Hz.
