Chennai, May 12 (UNI) Former CBI official K Ragothaman, who was
part of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) that probed former Prime
Minister Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, died at a private hospital
after testing positive for coronavirus.
He was 76.
Mr Ragothaman, who retired as CBI Special Unit Superintendent of
Police (SP) a few years back, was admitted to a private hospital after
he tested positive for COVID-19 and was under treatment for the last
few days.
However, he breathed his last on Wednesday morning, police said.
Mr Ragothaman had also written a few books on the high-profile
assassination case and crime investigations.
His latest book titled ‘Rarest of rare case - Murder of an advocate’
was published recently, police added.
