OkCredit Launches co-aid.in to Help Covid Patients
Covid-19 has killed thousands of people in India during the second wave. Finding medicines and the right types of equipment have become a headache for corona positive patients. To overcome this issue, OkCredit has launched a search tool co-aid.in to find the medicines and equipment nearby.
The startup has created a database of pharmacies and firms that are selling covid medicines including Fabiflu tablets, oximeters, O2 beds, normal beds, steamers, antibiotics, zinc, vitamins, and oxygen. The platform will provide real-time data related to the above medicine and equipment.
Through the online search platform co-aid.in, users can search the pharmacies and other firms to get the required treatment help nearby. The launched platform will also provide the contact number of those pharmacies to make necessary inquiries.
Talking about the noble initiative, OkCredit said:
“The initiative is aimed at helping people access such medicines easily by knowing where they are available. The company is open-sourcing data of over 2 lakh pharmacy stores and businesses on its platform.”
How co-aid.in Will Help Covid-19 Patients?
The online search tool will provide the required details from two sources. Oxygen and beds related information will be crowdsourced, whereas medicines and other equipment-related data will be directly updated based on pharmacy stores’ updates.
Harsh Pokharna, Co-founder and CEO of OkCredit, talked about the search tool launched by his startup. He told that the initiative is to help the people who are knocking on doors to get the right resources.
He said:
“People are overwrought with anxiety, fear, and the unending feeling of helplessness amid rising COVID cases. This is a time for mutual collaboration and leveraging human connection to make the lives of COVID patients and their families a tad easier.”
He further added:
“We are committed to leveraging our deeper and wider reach within the pharmacy stores and businesses to facilitate the availability of essential drugs and equipment used for treating COVID-19 patients.”
OkCredit also revealed that the launched platform will add more resources in the future to help the country further. The platform is also providing a registration feature to pharmacy stores and businesses that are not listed on co-aid.in.
The company received positive feedbacks within 12 days of launching. OkCredit claims that the online portal has received queries from 342 towns and cities within and outside India. Search queries have also come from New York, Singapore, Seattle, and Los Angeles among several other international locations.
Talking about the query locations in India, OkCredit said:
“In India, the highest searches have come from Bengaluru, Delhi, and Kolkata but smaller locations such as Panipat, Muzaffarpur, and Ranchi have also used the tool to search for nearby pharmacy shops.”
To help its employees against corona disease, the startup has tied up with Practo to provide the right health support during this challenging time.
