Trucker charged for trying to meet teenager for sex

May 11—WILLINGTON — An out- of- state truck driver was arrested by state police Sunday for trying to meet up with an underage teenager in town for sex.

Shawn Arnold, 45, of 71 Old Danville Road, Auburn, Maine, is accused of trying to meet with a 15-year-old at a truck stop in Willington.

According to a release issued late Monday morning, state police said Arnold was charged with criminal attempt of risk of injury to a child; criminal attempt of second- degree sexual assault; and criminal attempt of enticing a minor by using a computer.

State police said Arnold, a tractor- trailer driver, was processed at the Troop C barracks in Tolland. He was issued a $250,000 bond and appeared in Rockville Superior Court Monday.

According to the court clerk's office, Arnold's case was continued to June 18.
