Hyderabad: The Third Oxygen Express to Hyderabad reached Sanathnagar Goods complex here today filling 64.24 tonnes of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) filling five tankers. These tankers were loaded from Odisha and today reach Sanathnagar Goods Complex.
The third Oxygen Express to Hyderabad reached Sanathnagar Goods Complex, i.e. 12 May 2021. The train filled 64.24 tons of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) which filled 5 tankers. These tanks were sent earlier on May 9, 2021 in an empty state of the Sanathnagar Goods complex.
The third Oxygen Express was transported in a short period of about 27 hours from Angul, Odisha, for a distance of 1213 km. The train was traveling at an average speed of 45 km / h from the starting station. To ensure that the train reaches its destination as quickly as possible, Railways has created a green corridor for the uninterrupted and fast movement of this oxygen-special train.
Since liquid medical oxygen is a cryogenic load, transportation of tankers by rail was carried out taking into account limitations on the maximum speed at which it could be transported, maximum acceleration and deceleration. In addition, route mapping has been done to ensure that the trucks through rail lines are smooth over curves, adequate elevation along the route of ROBs, RUBs, FOBs, etc.
During these critical times, Indian Railways began operating Oxygen Express trains across the country to provide safe, secure, hassle-free and fast transportation of oxygen to the various parts of the country. These trains are operated at the request of the state governments. Consequently, all the Oxygen Express trains from Telangana were operated in both directions (empty and loaded condition) from the Hyderabad area to Odisha.
Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR congratulated the officials for the timely action in running the Oxygen Express train, effortless and fast delivery of the LMO. He advised all departments to be vigilant and proactive in meeting future needs to run more Oxygen Express trains.
