Surat Textile Mills shuts down manufacturing activity of Polyester Chips in Surat; Stock ends 7% higher

The plant has been closed due to the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic across the state of Gujarat followed by the prevailing subdued market conditions.

Surat Textile Mills Limited has decided to shut down its manufacturing activity of Polyester Chips at our plant in Surat.

“Owing to the prevailing situation in the country and the spread of Covid-19 pandemic across the state of Gujarat followed by the prevailing subdued market conditions, the management has decided to shut down its manufacturing activity of Polyester Chips at our plant at Village Jolva, Talu ka Palsana, Dist. Surat,” company said in a regulatory filing on Wednesday.

Surat Textile Mills Ltd ended at Rs4.58 up per piece by Rs0.31 or 7.26% from its previous closing of Rs4.27 on the BSE.
