Woman Infiltrates Facebook Mom Groups With Hilarious Undercover Profile
A lot is said about parents' attempts to infiltrate their kids' social media, but this TikToker pulled an "UNO reverse card" and went undercover in a Facebook mom group.
TikToker Anneke Roberts celebrated her Mother's Day this year by really trying to see what it's like to walk a mile in their shoes. After creating a fake Facebook profile using an "Old Face" filter and going by the pseudonym Ellen, Roberts joined the group "Mommy Needs A Recipe," which sees moms share their meals.
Sharing the process in a two-part TikTok, one of which has received over 500,000 views at the time of publication, she posted a fake lunch in the group. "My son Jonathieghn made me Mother's Day brunch today. I'm one lucky mama," she captioned an image of a seemingly normal meal, but with a half-eaten raw onion.
Amid the influx of complimentary comments on the post, including some who confessed to eating raw onions too, Roberts played into the role and toyed with some of the responses. At one point, she claims the onion is used as a palate cleanser and that she chose the spelling "Jonathieghn" to differentiate him from "other Jonnys" at school.
"Is it pronounced Jonathan or another way? It's unique and i'm not judging, I am just wondering how it's said," asked one mom in one of the many responses being dubbed sweet on the TikTok. "Most of the moms were so nice!" noted one viewer.

It seems Roberts' game of Facebook trolling made waves in other groups too, as some commenters claim the fake son's name was subsequently shared in a "baby name shaming" group where she was "roasted."
Now, Roberts claims she's since been banned from the "Mommy Needs a Recipe" group, so any hope for a follow-up video may be diminished.
Mother's Day isn't the first time she's gone undercover in a Facebook mom group either, as the TikToker infiltrated Rae Dunn groups last week. Rae Dunn is a pottery brand with a cult following, often associated with Pinterest and moms. The products often bear cute and inspiring words and phrases.
After posting doctored versions of the pottery with unexpected alternative words, TikTok users encouraged Roberts to join Rae Dunn Facebook groups to post them. After an attempt to join one of the highly protected groups, she shared an image of a bowl set, with the words "Nana's Ashes" and "Weed" printed on canisters.
Unsurprisingly, the post received some shocked and confused, but entertaining, responses from those in the group. One Facebook user recognised the account from TikTok, and had her banned from the group.
Newsweek contacted Anneke Roberts for a comment.
