Guwahati: With a view to increase COVID-19 The Assam government on Wednesday announced stricter restrictions that will take effect from May 13 until further orders.
According to an official order issued by the Assam government, the curbs will take effect on May 13 at 5am until further orders.
All shops, eateries, including eat-in, are allowed until 13:00, and only home delivery is allowed after 13:00.
The weekly markets will last for 15 days.
The instruction reads: “Pharmacies, hospitals, animal care centers and veterinary clinics can operate without providing restrictions on essential services and emergency services.”
Himanta Biswa Sarma, Prime Minister of Assam, wrote earlier on Twitter: “To contain Covid cases, more restrictions and restraint measures will be introduced from 13 May 2021. Detailed SOP will be issued on Wednesday. If restrictions are to continue for more than two weeks, the government will consider financial assistance for weaker sections. ”

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 1764 new cases of COVID-19 and 85 deaths were reported in the state.
On the other hand, 4,409 patients were discharged from hospitals on Wednesday. The total number of active cases was 40,611, while 1838 patients have lost their lives so far.
