Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) head coach Dylan Kerr has revealed that he received a timely message from world-renowned football manager Jose Mourinho before the Nedbank Cup final.
Kerr, who has previously coached Baroka FC and Black Leopards, guided Premiership newbies TTM to their first piece of silverware on Saturday with a narrow 1-0 win over Chippa United.
The former Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United left-back found himself on the same coaching course as Mourinho back in the day, and the pair have kept in contact ever since.
"When I did my SFA coaching badge at Largs, Jose Mourinho was on the same course, and we’ve kept in touch through email," Kerr told The Scottish Sun.
"I sent him a message this week telling him we were in the final, and he sent one back saying, 'Come on, I wish you the best and take the cup home.'"
Mourinho was recently announced as the new AS Roma manager after being sacked by Tottenham Hotspurs last month.
'The Special One', as he dubbed himself almost two decades ago, will take over duties as Roma manager next season.
