CHENNAI: PMK youth wing leader Anbumani Ramadoss on Tuesday demanded that the Centre double the allocation of Covid-19 vaccine to Tamil Nadu as the state is one of the worst affected states.
Anbumani questioned the disparity on the part of the Centre in allocating vaccine to states. The Modi government had allocated 1.39 crore doses of vaccine to Gujarat that has less population than Tamil Nadu, which received only 72 lakh doses. Similarly, the Centre had allocated 1.06 crore doses to Karnataka, which has less population than TN, he said.
Anbumani demanded that the Centre procure 1.50 crore doses of the vaccine directly from manufactures and supply them to Tamil Nadu at the earliest.
