Thread: Why is Amazon so popular in USA but not really anywhere else?

There's Amazon in other countries but it's not that popular. Why is America obsessed with them?

People are lazy as fuk these days. Not much else to it boyo.

Americans are too lazy to buy stuff from the stores and we buy a lot of stuff we don't need.

It's huge in the UK too.

When you order anything online, and for the most part can get it that same day or next at worst with unparalleled accuracy, it's going to be huge. If there are words to describe Western Culture, it's impatient and lazy. Amazon solves both of those issues.

I order from online retail shops of massive companies sometimes. I ordered Brooks running shoes a couple of months ago. I ordered something from The Body Shop for my mom. Chit takes a week minimum. They have to figure it out or brands teaming up with Amazon are going to catch up quickly.

Growing up, it was part of the experience. You want food, you go to the pizzeria, get in line, speak with the cook, and interact with others. It was somewhat a sense of accomplishment.

I miss that nostalgic feel of going into a blockbuster renting a game or a movie

I dont think I ever got old enough to visit their adult section before they started closing up

The downsides of technology becomes apparent every day. It's past that threshold of alleviating inconvenience and replacing crucial activities such as face-to-face interaction and being non-sedentary. So now we have more mentally undeveloped obese lazy c*nts.

But it has to happen, I mean we need to physically become less human if we ever want a chance to travel vast distance in space. Every century we will become less human.

Some other countries have something similar to amazon which is more popular where amazon only established itself late so it has to gain ground. That said, i freaking love Amazon.

Because of shipping restrictions.


Most people abroad (me included) have to use a freight forwarder for amazon us because Amazon has a ton of restrictions when it comes to overseas shipping.

And even Amazon in other countries dont nearly have enough of the catalogues available in the US.


If amazon allowed intl shipping and streamlined it, I know a lot of people who would prefer using it.

It's not as good as it used to be. Shipping takes longer and there's a lot of supply shortages. Takes three weeks to get a Dewalt tool.

My login doesn’t work for Amazon, it generates a link to fix it, which doesn’t do anything. Sure I emailed as well, no reply, never mind, I just use ebay.

Also, their warehouses sound terrible, very poor conditions and pay subsidised by our idiotic government. So screw them.
