Mumbai, May 11 (UNI) A total of 71,966 fresh COVID patients were discharged after recovering from the virus, the highest recoveries in a day, according to the state health bulletin issued on Tuesday.
This is the third consecutive day when more recoveries were reported than new cases in the state.
With this, total number of recoveries goes up to 45,41,391 in the state.
While 40,956 new COVID-19 cases and 793 deaths were also reported in the last 24 hours.
The fresh surge has taken the infections tally to 51,79,929 while the death toll to 77,191.
The recovery rate has now slightly goes up to 86.67 per cent due to more recoveries of patients. The fatality rate is 1.49 per cent.
The state has an active caseload of 5,58,996 patients.
Mumbai reported 1717 new cases and 51 deaths in the past 24 hours.
