India’s teen batting sensation Shafali Verma is set to play for Birmingham Phoenix in the inaugural edition of The Hundred and might also turn up for a Sydney franchise in the Women’s Big bash League later in the year. The 17-year-old, who is the world No. 1 T20I batswoman in ICC rankings, thus will join Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma in the 100-ball tournament involving eight men’s and women’s teams.

Gurjoat finishes 34th in Lonato World Cup

Indian shooter Gurjoat Singh Khangura finished 34th in the men’s skeet competition after firing a total score of 120 in the ISSF Shotgun World Cup in Lonato, Italy. The other shooter in the fray, Angad Vir Singh Bajwa, ended in the 51st place after aggregating 118 over five rounds. Gurjoat had started the day in 12th position.
