Imphal, May 10 2021: The Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COHSEM) has clarified that a notification being circulated through internet and social media regarding cancellation of Class XI and XII Examinations, 2021 is fake and fabricated.

The Secretary of COHSEM stated that a notification bearing No 2/45/98-HSC (Vol IV) and dated 9-5-2021 purported to be issued by the COHSEM found circulating is fake.

The said document has not been issued by COHSEM and the matter has been reported to the police authorities for registration of FIR and necessary investigation, it said.

The COHSEM Secretary further informed all that Class XI and XII Examinations, 2021 are being postponed in view of the COVID-19 pandemic and any decision for cancellation of the examinations or otherwise have not yet been taken.

The council also condemned such irresponsible actions affecting the lives of all students and parents involved including their mental health and well being during the COVID-19 situation.

While informing that any official notification or information by the Council shall be uploaded on the official website- www.cohsem.nic.in and also circulated in local dailies, the Secretary also advised to treat any unreliable information circulated through unofficial channels or social media with caution.
