Chennai, May 11 (UNI) As the two-week long lockdown to
control the spread of the second wave of COVID pandemic
came into force from Monday, the Tamil Nadu government
today announced additional relaxations.
An official release said fruit sellers were allowed to operate
as per the timings granted to vegetables and flower vendors
(from 6.00 AM to 1200 noon).
All industries are allowed to function for one day for maintenance
purposes with a minimal staff strength during the lockdown period.
While a helpline was launched for the benefit of continuous process
industries manufacturing essential items to redress their grievances
during lockdown, permission is granted for functioning of shops selling
native and traditional medicines, on the lines of allopathy medical
stores and pharmacies.
These relaxations were announced by Chief Minister M K Stalin
based on the feedback he received during a meeting he held with
industries and traders organisations and Federations today.
