Adam Jacoby, director of global and strategic innovation at Swinburne and former Codex T50 innovator, feels thrilled to be bringing the event to Australia.
“This October, we will see leaders from around the world convene in the heart of Melbourne to share their vision for a better future. For the first time, T50 Melbourne will be held outside London—a strong endorsement of Swinburne’s leadership in innovation. We are pleased to be able to share this experience with Victorians, Australians, and people across the globe”, Jacoby says.
“Through T50 Melbourne, we will work with Australian innovation and technology ambassadors to showcase how Australian science and technology is making a global impact in so many areas of our lives”, Jacoby adds.
T50 Melbourne will take place for seven days in Melbourne, Geelong, Bendigo, and Traralgon.
The majority of T50 Melbourne will be conducted at the State Library of Victoria including a series of events to be held on Swinburne’s Hawthorn campus.
Call for final nominations
A unique aspect of T50 Melbourne is the opportunity for innovators worldwide to nominate and to present.
Nominations for T50 Melbourne close next month, with nominations already received from applicants in Europe, Asia, US, New Zealand, and Australia.
Nominations remain open across key categories including Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Future of Mobility, Biotechnology, Materials Science, Space Technologies, Blockchain Technologies, Quantum Computing, and Technology and the Impact on Society.
Professor Bronwyn Fox, Swinburne deputy vice-chancellor (research and enterprise), is on the T50 Melbourne speaker selection committee and has been impressed upon by the calibre of local and international nominees.
“The brands, leaders, and entrepreneurs come through the nomination process are extraordinary, and choosing just 50 will be a challenge for the selection committee. What we do know, is that the final T50 speakers will represent the very best world-leading innovators including local talent giving us valuable insights, actionable information, and renewed optimism”, Fox concludes.
