Samsung Galaxy A12 and Galaxy A02s get updated to Android 11

Samsung has rolled out Android 11 operating system update to two of its budget category phones -- Galaxy A12 and Galaxy A02s. The update is currently rolled out in Russia and is expected to be made available in other global markets soon.

The new update brings the operating system One UI 3.1 (Core) to Galaxy A12 phone. It also updates the firmware version to A125FXXU1BUE3. The update also changes the Android security patch to the month of May.

As far as the Samsung Galaxy A02s, it is being updated to One UI 3.1 and gets firmware version A025FXXU2BUDC. However, the update comes with last month’s April security patch instead of the May build.

Other features that come with the update are one-time app permissions, improved smart lock controls, improved Digital Wellbeing and chat bubbles.

Recently, the company rolled out Android 11 update for a two-year-old smartphone in India. Samsung introduced One UI 3.1 based on Android 11 operating system update to the Galaxy M40 which was launched in 2019 with Android 10.

The new firmware update comes with version number M405FDDU2CUC6 and weighs 2GB in size. The software update also brings a security patch for the month of March 2021. After the update, users will be able to experience Android 11 features like a default screen recorder, better media controller and more.
