JAGIROAD, May 10: Demand for immediate action on revival of Nagaon and Cachar mills echoed on the very first day of Himanta Biswa Sarma taking oath as chief minister of Assam.

Joint Action Committee for Registered Unions (JACRU) demanded immediate action on revival of Nagaon and Cachar Paper Mills.

Revival is necessary to restore sources of employment for lakhs of youths & release all pending legitimate dues to the workers to save lives as 85 have already died including 4 suicides during the last tenure of the NDA led government in Assam, stated the union.

JACRU president and secretary Manobenra Chakravarty and Ananda Bordoloi respectively expressed confidence on dynamic leadership of Himanta Biswa Sarma and desired fulfilment of renewed commitments made by Amit Shah, a PR stated.
