FOIJ requests J&K Governor to extend GST reimbursement filing time

Jammu, May 11 (KNN) In the wake of COVID-19, the Federation of Industries Jammu (FOIJ) has requested Hon'ble Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha to extend the time for the filing of GST reimbursement and budgetary support claims.
The same requests were also made to the Financial Commissioner, Finance Department Arun Kumar Mehta, IAS.
According to a statement from the industry body, Lalit Mahajan, Chairman, FOIJ drew Sinha's attention towards the difficulties faced by the industrial units in Jammu & Kashmir due to the ongoing current COVID-19 situation and also apprised the Governor about the difficulties which units are facing while uploading their online.
They also sought instant relief to the industrial units such as: Immediate release of payments to industrial units in respect of reimbursement claims of CGST/SGST and budgetary support pending with the state tax department up to 31-12-2020; Extension in the date for the filing of GST returns; One time relaxation for filing the time barred GST reimbursement claims and extension in the repayment period of GECL scheme which is going to be started from June 2021.
