Covid-19 cases touched a new high in the district with 1,382 new infections reported today.

The number of positive cases in the district so far stands at 56,140. Meanwhile, 14 deaths due to Covid were reported and 303 patients recovered from the virus.

Earlier, the highest single-day case tally was recorded on May 4 with 1,056 infections.

There are now 11,758 active cases in the district, while 706 have succumbed to the virus so far.

4 succumb, 367 cases in Panchkula

Panchkula: Four more persons succumbed to Covid during the past 24 hours taking the district toll to 253.

Civil Surgeon Jasjit Kaur said three males and a female died of the virus. Meanwhile, 367 persons tested positive for Covid, taking the total number of positive cases so far to 25,297. There are 2,685 active cases in the district. — TNS

Seven deaths, 863 cases in Chandigarh

Chandigarh: The city recorded 863 Covid-19 cases on Monday, taking the number of active cases to 8,653. With seven more deaths, the toll has reached 575. The total number of cases in the UT has reached 51,070. A total of 714 patients were cured of the disease. TNS
