India is presently in the grips of a public health emergency with frantic calls for help for beds, medicines, oxygen cylinders, essential drugs and tests coming in from every part of the country. The second wave of COVID-19 has proved far deadlier than the first wave as the death toll continues to rise across the country. Amid such trying times, our Bollywood celebrities have stepped up and are extending their support as India fights COVID-19. Celebs have been contributing their bit in ways of donation, food packet distribution, oxygen cylinders etc. Popular singer Mika Singh has been silently working for people for a year now. He started his langar facility in Delhi last year where he ensured the free food supply to a thousand people on a daily basis. This langar facility is still operational. And now, he has started the same initiative in Mumbai also. He will be arranging Langar for about thousand needy people on a daily basis in Mumbai from this week onwards. Similarly, Farhan Akhtar has teamed up with a non-for-profit organisation.
