Ranchi, May 11 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday said that the state government is working to address the issue of lack of manpower in the healthcare sector
including doctors, nurses and other para medical staff.
Chairing a video conferencing with MLAs and MPs of North Chottanagpur and Kolhan
Divisions, he said, the government had managed to positively tackle the first wave of
Coronavirus and is currently battling the second wave while dangers of a third wave are
also looming large.
He said the government is working with full strength to control the situation and provide
better healthcare facilities to the people.
The Chief Minister said with unity of all and participation the battle against Coronavirus can
be won.
Mr Soren said the government has accorded special focus to prevent the spread of
Coronavirus in the rural areas.
He said after increasing the facilities and resources in the urban areas the initial problems
have been solved but people in the rural areas have yet not understood the seriousness of
the situation.
The chief minister said there was apprehensions among the people over the vaccination
and are also negligent towards the tests, further in cremation of the dead also Covid
protocol is not being followed, therefore the state government has made special plans for
test, treatment and vaccination in rural areas for which awareness is being also created
through various means and in this the representatives have an important to role to play.
He said in these tough times apart from fulfilling own needs Jharkhand was also catering
to the needs of the nation and is providing 600 metric tonnes of oxygen.
Mr Soren said there should not be any lack of resources in battle against Coronavirus
which is responsibility of the state government and assured that as per the needs of the
other states necessary help will be extended.
The chief minister said that there will be no lack of medicines in the rural areas and
through Anganwadi kendras medical kits will be provided to the people and so far 45,000
kits have been distributed.
He further said that the army welfare board has assured all possible help to the government
and 300 ex-armymen will be serving as Corona warriors.
Mr Soren said that if a retired doctor or any other person wants to serve they can provide
information.
He also asked the representatives to inform the health department if they have such people
in their contact.
