Subhash Ghai says that no nation can tackle COVID with resources alone, emphasises the importance of self-discipline
Subhash Ghai said that ‘no nation can regulate COVID’ with more medical services such as ventilators and ICU beds, and blamed it on citizens’ actions.
The current COVID-19 crisis has shed light on the shortage of hospital beds, oxygen supplies, ventilators, and ICU wards, as SOS demands for them have been raging in recent days. Subhash Ghai, on the other hand, noted that ‘no nation would be able to handle’ the pandemic by increasing these services, which he referred to as ‘temporary’ solutions. According to the veteran filmmaker, citizens’ behaviour would determine the ‘path of the pandemic.’
Ghai took to Twitter to declare that increasing the number of beds, oxygen, ventilators, and ICU wards were only ‘temporary, impossible, and very expensive’ solutions to the crisis. The Ram Lakhan filmmaker used the example of road accident fatalities to demonstrate that people’s behaviour, rather than more hospitals and other medical resources, was the deciding factor. He also advised people to “remain calm.”

According to Union Health Ministry data updated on Tuesday, the single-day increase in new coronavirus infections in India dropped to 3.29 lakh after 14 days, bringing the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases to 2,29,92,517.
After a two-month steady rise, active cases have dropped to 37,15,221 (or 16.16 percent of total infections), with the national COVID-19 recovery rate standing at 82.75 percent. According to the data, the number of people who have recovered from the disease has risen to 1,90,27,304, with a case fatality rate of 1.09 percent.
