Which one of these jobs/schedule wood you choose for the next 18 months

    job 1)
    datacenter maintenance tech
    pay: base of $97.9k
bring home a month with all income: $6431
nights half the year, days the other half, 6-6, but wood be base + night shift diff
schedule is sat-sun-mon-tue, sat-sun-mon (4 on 3 off 3 on 4 off) or shift it one day ahead for day shift so only working sundays not both sat & sun
    easy asf work

    job 2)
active duty USAF air traffic controller at the base
pay: base of $5500ish + per diem
bring home a month of $4500 for all income streams
    schedule
(here's the chit part) Weds-Sun 0530 - 1430, only monday and tuesdays off for the next year and a half

end of the day, i'd take a $1900 pay cut a month for the next year and a half to be able to be ATC. good thing about it is though that i would choose that every day and twice on sundays if that has to be my job for the next 20-25yrs in the reserves. basically its a retraining opportunity but its takes 18 months of tech school and on station training to get qual'd. couldnt imagine doing anything else than controlling planes if i stay in for the long haul. currently 17-18yrs in but commander is pushing for us to stay on wuarterly drills which is hnnnng
