Kohima, 26th April 2021

As the beginning of the second wave of Covid-19 started hitting each and every nation, it is learnt that, Nagaland is facing a shortage of Covid-19 Vaccine for its citizens.

The second wave of super spreader of Covid-19 is entering our doorstep, the Nagaland Government should be prepared with the vaccine for its eligible citizens but instead, it appears that the vaccine has run out of stock.

The Central Government has been announcing that by 1st May 2021, every citizen above the age of 18 years will be eligible to have their dose of vaccine. However, in Nagaland, its citizens were disappointed on learning that the vaccine is out of stock in any medical houses, and only remaining vaccine dose in the stock is for the second phase.

Therefore, the Naga People’s Front asked the Government, how far the State Government is preparing to tackle the second wave when the vaccine has run out of stock. And what alternative arrangement, the State Government is preparing for the people who have been denied of their dose due to the shortage of vaccine.

The NPF strongly urged upon the present Government to be serious enough in the health sector particularly dealing the present pandemic Corona Virus and do justice for its citizens with outmost care and sincerity and immediately made available the vaccine and also to sensitize its people about the importance of vaccine so that no eligible persons is left out.
