Hansi Flick is expected to sign with the German National Team for three years, according to the Abendzeitung, a Munich newspaper.

This will put him in charge of the national team at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and Euro 2024, which is listed to take place in Germany.

Hansi Flick as the German Manager

Hansi Flick, who is stepping down as Bayern Munich coach at the end of this season, will take over the German national team after this summer’s Euro, a German newspaper reported on Monday.

Flick was appointed as Bayern manager in November 2019 following the dismissal of Niko Kovac and led the club a Champions League, Bundesliga, and DFB-Pokal Treble.

He also became the second manager to win six trophies in a single calendar year, when he added the German Super Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.

He was assistant to Joachim Low, who is standing down after 15 years, between 2006 and 2014, when Germany won the world title.

Hansi Flick will replace 2014 World Cup Winner Joachim Low

The German Football Association (DFB) on Tuesday announced that Joachim Low will step down from his position as head coach of the Germany team after the Euro 2020.

Joachim Low will end his job as national coach after the European Championship in summer 2021. The national coach asked to end his contract, which originally ran until the 2022 World Cup, immediately upon completion of the European Championship tournament. The German Football Association (DFB) agreed to this,” DFB said in a statement in German. Low said he has taken this step “very consciously”, adding that he will remain grateful to the DFB.

As compensation, the two institutions are considering organizing an exhibition game between the German national team and Bayern Munich, with the profits from the ticket sales going to the German champions.
