Hyderabad: Prime Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will hold a state cabinet meeting in his camp office, Pragati Bhavan, on Tuesday at 14:00 to decide on the imposition of a lock in the state. As of now, Telangana is the only state in the entire country that has not yet instituted a full closure. Government officials have repeatedly said that no one is needed, as the situation is slowly being brought under control.
In the wake of COVID-19 matters that increase day by day, a decision will be taken after discussion in the cabinet on the establishment of a lock in Telangana. In some countries, even after the exclusion was introduced, there are reports that COVID-19 matters did not come down. A major concern for the state government is the financial burden it will have to bear because people will not be able to survive for more than a few days without having a job.
Against this background, different opinions are expressed about the introduction of lockdown among civil servants. There is also a situation where some groups in the state want a closure to be instituted. The cabinet will also discuss and decide on the consequences of the closure on the current grain procurement process in the state.
As of now, Telangana reports approximately 5,000 new COVID-19 cases on average per day.
