Unnao, May 10 (UNI) Nababganj Bird Sanctuary has quarantined 29 deers along with their caretakers to prevent the animals from contracting COVID-19.
The decision was taken after news of two lionesses at Etawah Lion Safari Park getting infected surfaced a day ago.
The quarantined deers are being given vitamin in their diet to increase their immunity power, informed ranger Vivek Verma.
He said that all the Covid protocols were being followed strictly in the sanctuary which houses more than 250 species of birds and animals.
The Nababganj bird sanctuary known as Shahid Chandrashekhar Azad Bird Sanctuary is spread out in over 224 hectares of land on the Lucknow-Kanpur highway.
The ranger said that the deer park has been closed and all the 29 deers have been kept in isolation.
Earlier authorities of Etawah Lion safari park had confirmed that two Lioness were found positive of Corona.
