BHUBANESWAR: Anyone can now call up the state-run Covid hospitals and Covid care centres to enquire about their family members, relatives, friends, neighbours or colleagues admitted there as help desks have been made operational in these facilities.
The phone numbers of the dedicated help desks of the Covid care facilities have also been put up in the state Covid dashboard, which is managed by the electronics and information and technology department.
“Friends or family members of the patients concerned can call up on these numbers for their health updates. A proper system has been put in place for round-the-clock functioning of these help desks,” a senior government official handling the dashboard said.
Earlier, chief secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra had asked the district collectors to ensure such a mechanism so that the family members of the patients didn’t have to rush to the Covid care facilities.
The district collectors were also asked to ensure that the Covid call centres at the district-level remain fully active and responsive 24x7. Accordingly, various district administrations and municipal corporations have also set up dedicated helpline numbers to help the citizens reach out to the administration for any Covid-related queries.
