To celebrate having movies back in action Sperry's Moviehouse in downtown Port Huron will be giving away free tickets for two Fridays this month.

The movies are back in action at Sperry’s Moviehouse and to celebrate welcoming guests back, the downtown Port Huron theater will be giving away free tickets for two Fridays this month.

The theater is offering free movies for May 14 and May 21 as a gift to the community as it returns from the COVID-19 shutdown, according to a theater press release.

“We’re excited,” said Nicole Kelly, marketing manager for CityFlatsHotel and Sperry's Moviehouse in Holland and Port Huron.

She said the free tickets will most likely be limited to four tickets reserved per person.

Tickets will be available the Tuesday afternoon before the Friday showing and can only be reserved online at www.SperrysMoviehouse.com.

Moviegoers will be able to enjoy movies including “Those Who Wish Me Dead, "Spiral," “Wrath of Man,” “The Water Man,” and “Mortal Kombat.” Seating will be limited according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention capacity restrictions.

The theater hopes people come back to the movies and they also think this is a great way to thank people for sticking with them through the pandemic, Kelly said.

“At Sperry’s Moviehouse we are ready to bring entertainment back to downtown Holland and Port Huron,” said Chuck Reid, Sperry’s Moviehouse owner.
