Australian batsman David Warner and former national opener and now commentator Michael Slater have responded to reports that they were involved in a physical altercation in the Maldives.
Both Warner and Slater are part of an Australian contingent that are spending time in quarantine on the tropical island before they are allowed back into Australia following the postponement of the Indian Premier League (IPL) last week.
The Sunday Telegraph reported over the weekend that the pair were involved in a heated discussion that turned physical.
A text message sent by Slater to the publication denied the clash, however.
"There is absolutely nothing to the rumour mill ... Davie and I are great mates and absolutely zero chance of [having] a fight," Slater said.
Warner said there was no "concrete evidence" that the alleged fight had taken place.
"I don't know where you get these things from. Unless you were here and have got concrete evidence you can't write anything. Nothing happened." said Warner.
On the weekend before the IPL was postponed Warner saw the captaincy of the Sunrisers Hyderabad taken away from him and handed to New Zealand's Kane Williamson.
He was also dropped from the team that faced the Rajasthan Royals in the Sunrisers' last match before the tournament was suspended.
