After all, it has been decided who will be the next Chief Minister of Assam. Himanta Biswa Sarma has been stamped as the next Chief Minister of Assam. In the Bharatiya Janata Party Legislature Party meeting held on Sunday, 52-year-old Himanta Biswa Sarma was elected as the leader.
His name was proposed by former Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal himself. After being elected as the leader of the legislative party, Sarma met Governor Jagdish Chandra Mukhi on Sunday evening to stake claim to form the government.
Himanta Biswa Sarma will take oath as Chief Minister at 12 noon today. Sarma was earlier elected as the leader of the BJP Legislative Party and then the National Democratic Alliance Legislature Party.
Himanta Biswa Sarma has thanked PM Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda for being given a chance for the post of Chief Minister.
