After raising funds for COVID-19 relief with wife Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli takes first shot of COVID-19 vaccine

The second wave of deadly COVID-19 is gripping the country and there's a drastic surge in coronavirus cases, which leads to a lack of oxygen cylinders, hospital beds, and medicines in various parts of the country. However, amid all these, the vaccine drive has been rolled out and as per the government, citizens who are above the age of 18 can get vaccinated. Celebrities like Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Malaika Arora, Sonakshi Sinha, Ankita Lokhande, Radhika Madan and several others have already taken the jabs and are urging their fans to do the same. Now, star cricketer and husband of Bollywood beauty Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli took to social media to share that he has received the first jab of the vaccine. Sharing a pic as his Instagram story, he wrote, 'Vaccinate as soon as you can please. Stay safe'.Meanwhile, power couple, Virushka recently made the headlines after they announced their fundraising campaign '#InThisTogether' aiming to raise Rs 7 crores for COVID relief in India. They have also donated Rs 2 crore to the campaign and also urged everyone to 'come together and help our India'. The campaign received Rs 3.6 crore till May 8th and updating about the same, an overwhelmed Virat also shared a post thanking everyone for the support. He wrote '3.6 crores in less than 24 hours! Overwhelmed with the response. Let’s keep fighting to meet our target and help the country. Thank you'. While, Anushka wrote, 'Grateful to everyone who has donated so far. Thank you for your contribution. We have crossed the halfway mark, let’s keep going'. A few days ago, the 'Pari' actress also shared a post to thank all the healthcare and frontline workers for their dedicated efforts as India fights the second wave of the deadly COVID-19. She posted a video with pictures of doctors, policemen and ambulances and wrote, 'Thank You, A huge shoutout to all the frontliners working tirelessly day and night putting their lives at risk to save ours. India stands by you'. She captioned the video as, 'We'd like to say a big thank you to all our healthcare and frontline workers, their dedication is truly inspiring. You continue to risk your lives for the nation, and for that, we are eternally grateful to you. You are the real heroes, for Virat and I, and for the nation. Thank you once again'.
