Mohali, May 9

Khalsa Aid, an NGO, in order to assist the state government in its fight against Covid-19, has donated 100 oxygen concentrators to the National Health Mission (NHM), Punjab, on Sunday.

The NGO has delivered the consignment to the Covid-19 store of the NHM established at the Punjab Mandi Board Complex in Sector 65, Mohali.

Bhupinder Singh Batth, a volunteer from Khalsa Aid, said these concentrators were self-generating oxygen machines. Considering the present situation when there was scarcity of oxygen cylinders, these concentrators would prove to be life saving, he said.

Batth said the NGO was working to provide humanitarian aid in disaster areas around the world. He said the NGO was already extending help to the government in Delhi and on learning about shortage of oxygen cylinders in Punjab, it decided to assist the state government by making available these oxygen concentrators. He said Khalsa Aid would provide assistance to the state government to the best of its capacity in future also. — TNS
